Holliday panel 1

Click here or above for a full sized, 1600×800 image!

This is the actual first finished panel for a webcomic called HOLLIDAY. Bill Woodcock, Jr. and I have been devising, designing and writing this project off and on for almost 5 years now. We’ll be going live with the site in a few weeks so I hope you’ll be there for the grand opening. Stay tuned here or on my Facebook or Twitter page for the big unveiling. Until then I leave you with this fine crusty, creepy panel.

LOGO Listen to Flameape on the JAVILAND podcast!

EPISODE 23, “Working Solo VS Working in a Group”
Time: 08/30/2009 09:05 PM EDT

Blathering with versimilitiude! I will be on a panel for my second JAVILAND PODCAST. That’s the podcast hosted by Javier Hernandez, Artist/writer/creator of EL MUERTO, (made into a feature film in) DEMOLITION DOVE (trailer), and the upcoming MAN-SWAMP! Javier with BILLY COLE creator TED SEKO, created the NOUVELLE BRONZE Publishing label XOMIX COMIX! Back on topic, Javiland Podcast is a place for Javier’s fellow DIY comic creator pals to commiserate, cajole and communicate our ideas about whatever that night’s topic is. Tonight live at 9:05 PM, EST the topic we wunderkinds of comic creation will discuss is- “Working Solo VS Working in a Group”. Quote Javier’s blurb:

Do you work on your own when you make your comics? Are you part of a group, creating or publishing in tandem with others? Working alone, or with a group, offers different opportunities and challenges.

I look forward to shootin’ the bull with my new friends in comics publishing- so please give a listen, or even participate in the live chat!

For your convenience, you can listen with the TALKSHOE WIDGET in the inside bottom right sidebar of this blog!

Studio Flameape 2009

Trying out new looks for my mascot and alter ego. A bit of a “ROBOT MONSTER” meets early space program meets Flameape. I like the subtle differences in the 2nd version’s face area better. Type needs work, but I’m on to something, to be sure. The font is Cooper Black, BABY!

Flameape 2009

Here’s the senses-popping trailer to ROBOT MONSTER for your edification.

I am here. Let’s hope this lasts, as I really don’t want to do this EVER AGAIN.

I re-installed for the latest time because

  1. Why bother with a “/blog” address when flameape.org is just fine.
  2. New starts are awesome and exiting. (such utter bullshit)
  3. When I get flameape.com live, that will serve as my boilerplate classic website/portfolio/webcomics/storefront. Yes kids, a STORE will be online by September 1- Prints(s&n), original art and other merch coming.  May as well use .org for sketch and art-blogging, info, news, thoughts etc, nes pas?

OK, enough. I will now begin throwing into here all my last years blog posts. The layout, theme, etc., all that stuff will change this week. So welcome to FLAMEAPE’s Blog 3.0 or something.
