ARG- couldn’t sleep. Insomnia wins. So I sketched earlier this morning- around 4 AM. Enjoy these while I get a shower and then some brekkies with the G.F. and der kinder-kooks. Yawwwn. NEED COFFEE.

I only got one sketch done yesterday morning. A remodel of classic space adventure newspaper comic character, BUCK RODGERS. Buck certainly has gone through a few permutations comic-strip wise, but here is the basic idea of his look:

I made the classic space adventurer over using a mash-up of European 19th century Naval uniform-meets-samurai. Fun to do.
Here are a few of my daily sketches from over the spring-summer. I have been doing 3 sketches a day every morning while doing my 3 S’s. Or sometimes at/after breakfast if I get derailed. Either way, I’ve accumulated many many sketches. I do this as part of my morning mindfulness meditation (google it, Jon Kabot-Zinn, Phillipe Goldin, etc.). It clears my mind- and it is right now ( as my responsibilities have skyrocketed since May), my only means of centering myself, thoughts etc. As I do the breathing part of the meditation- I am also drawing whatever comes to mind, which seems to be superhero characters. some new and some old.
